I just rewatched Insights Chats 05 with Louisa Robinson on “How to Internally Sell Your Research,” and here are my random notes:

  • Everyone should work in a service job at some point to truly understand the customer.
  • Whether they are external or internal clients, you still need to solve a problem for them.
  • Know your audience and how to present data/information to them effectively.
  • It's hard to argue with video content featuring an ideal client—use it in your presentations.
  • Sometimes, having no budget makes you more creative.
  • Identify your customer champions within the organisation and use them to promote insights across the company.
  • Tie actionable insights to financials, showing how much you could potentially save or earn.
  • There's nothing more powerful than a good customer story.
  • Ensure insights have a seat at the table.
  • Having a unified KPI across the whole organisation helps everyone work in the same direction.
  • Think about how you can make your stakeholder's job easier. 🚶🏼
