Recently, someone asked me, "Do you have any AI?" I asked for what purpose. The person replied, "Any AI. Just so I can say to others we use AI."

That's a big issue with the current AI hype.

💡
Some people just want to claim they have AI, no matter what it does. But having AI, just for the sake of having it, will not fix anything.

AI is like any other technology. It can be amazing if you find the right purpose for it. But it can be a huge waste of time if you force it.

One thing is to play with it and be curious, which is a good way of finding a purpose for it. Another thing is being oblivious to what truly matters to your client.

My example is from the market research industry, but I see this everywhere.

Many use cases just don't fit the real-world problems.

It feels like we are at a food market, and everyone wants to put that "organic" sticker, hoping that sticker will sell more.

For some, it would, for some, it will backfire. 🚶🏼
